Welcome to the Second, Third and Fourth Grades! In our classroom we value making meaningful connections, asking insightful questions, and working cooperatively together. We start our day with a Responsive Classroom based morning meeting.

During our Language Arts Block, students read and respond to literature from our Houghton Mifflin reading programs and individual genre study units. We also use Houghton Mifflin for our Math Block with many supplemental activities that promote a deeper understanding of math concepts.

Social Studies and Science topics are on a two-year loop. We strive to use our beautiful surroundings to illustrate and enhance topics of study. By involving members of our community and students' interests, we hope to make learning memorable, engaging and meaningful. Writing is an essential skill that we work on daily and is integrated throughout all areas of study.
