Marlow Historical Society Minutes - September 2010

MHS Board Meeting September 2, 2010 6:30 PM

Pam Little, Johanna Kent, Gen Ells, Maria Baril, Loisanne Foster, and Mary Blank were present. Loisanne read the Secretary’s Report which was accepted as read. Mary presented the Treasures Report which was accepted as stands.

We regretfully accepted the resignation of Pam Little as President. We are happy that she will remain with us as a volunteer as time permits, and look forward to her return to office somewhere down the road. We are grateful for her leadership and hard work during her three years as President.

We discussed our Programs for the remained of 2010. We made preparations for our NHHC speaker, John Perreault on Thursday, Sept. 16th, each taking on various responsibilities including publicity, setup, refreshment, and introduction. We planned our Annual Elections Meeting for Sept. 17th. We established our individual responsibilities for the upcoming Harvest Festival Oct. 3rd including our booth, Eleventh Annual MHS Art Show, and various details including publicity, setup, and breakdown. Sue Coleman of Charlestown will join us at the art show, spinning yarn from her own sheep. We will participate in Christmas on the Pond in November and do our part in the coming Marlow Holiday Program, Saturday, December 4th.

We discussed plans for our part Marlow’s 250th Anniversary, and decided to make that our topic for the Annual Meeting. We also discussed the possibility of having a Historic District in Marlow.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:38 PM.

The next meeting will be Oct. 7 at 6:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Loisanne Foster
