When your child is going to
be absent or late, please call first thing in the morning. The school has an
answering machine that is checked numerous times during the school day. We are
concerned about your child's welfare and want to be sure your child is safe. If
they are absent without notice, the school secretary will attempt to call home,
parents' work phone and other numbers on the student registration form to
determine the whereabouts of your child. Please be sure to inform the school if
there are any changes to your child's emergency contact numbers during the

a permission slip, they will not be allowed to stay. It is the parents'
responsibility to arrange transportation home for your child. If they are
riding home with someone other than their parent/guardian, we need a written
note stating who will be transporting them.
Medicine Policy: It is not
the policy of the school to dispense medicines such as cough/cold medicine or
Tylenol/aspirin. Cough drops are to be given to the teacher, and they can be
requested by the students "as needed."
Students may be dropped off
at school no earlier than 8:30am when the bus arrives and the doors are
unlocked. You are welcome to accompany your child into the all-purpose room,
however please do not enter the classroom areas without making an appointment
or checking with the secretary. Exterior doors will be locked once all the
children have arrived at 8:45am, at which time attendance is taken. Classes
start at 8:45am, and students are expected to be on time. Please try your best
to have your child arrive on time. Tardiness is disruptive to the class
schedule and students miss out on important instruction. The secretary will

If you are picking up your
child after school, please wait outside at the main entrance, or in inclement
weather, you may wait inside in the foyer. School dismissal time is very hectic
in classrooms and teachers are busy making sure students have all their
homework, notes, lunch boxes etc. before the bus arrives. If you would like to
confer with a teacher concerning your child, please make an appointment or wait
until after the bus leaves to check if they are available. This will also
provide you with some privacy as well. All visitors entering the school during
school hours will need to sign in and obtain a visitor's pass.
Please do not expect to have your child supervised if they are dropped off at the school before 8:30am when the bus arrives unless they are here for a special activity with prior permission. Students dropped off before 8:30am will remain outdoors, unsupervised.
Food Service: Lunches, snack
drinks and lunch drinks need to be ordered and paid for in advance. Lunches are
ordered ahead of time and delivered to us through the Keene Food Service on the
morning bus. We do not receive extras. You may order and pay for your child's
lunches a month at a time. Please note, all checks need to be made payable to
"Keene Food Service."
