Marlow Historical Society
Bridal Quilt Exhibit
Murray Hall

Sunday, August 18, 2pm

Hello to all members and friends of the Marlow Historical Society. We hope you will join us for our prime event of the summer, honoring an object of huge historic and sentimental value, which has been languishing in an archival box for years. You can read about this bridal album quilt made by Marlow church ladies in 1876 for Frances Dodge just before her 1877 wedding to Jerome Reed, and see the names of parents, grandparents, relatives and friends of the engaged couple that appear on it, in the Spring/Summer 2019 Historical Society newsletter.

We will also display an elegant wedding gown from the same period as the quilt, lent to us by the Walpole Historical Society.

Joanne Thomas has done research about wedding customs of the late nineteenth century, which she will share with all of us.

Refreshments (more details later….) will be served under a tent.

LET’S MAKE IT A REAL CELEBRATION
